MICHAEL DERN, AIA

SENIOR ARCHITECT

Michael’s experience primarily includes architectural design for mix-use, hotel, and residential projects. Michael has served many public and private-sector clients, bringing a hands-on and collaborative approach to each project with project management, owner’s representative positions, and construction management.

While involved with award-winning urban infill developments or multi-stakeholder community-based projects, each provided opportunities to lead design teams, work within aggressive schedules and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams toward the client’s goals.

Michael’s career has been built on business-centered practices as an ethical, proactive, and fiscally responsive leader.

•        Design through Construction Administration of commercial, residential, and urban infill projects, retail, and restaurants. As the architectural project manager and owner's representative, providing construction solutions and maintaining quality with design initiatives throughout the budget and project delivery.

•        Large-scale mix-use projects involving Design+Build teams, for-sale residential units, and commercial spaces while being the Project Manager managing the process and deliverables.

•        Established policies and contributed to the management and design directions within the architecture firms I worked for and his architecture firm. Created procedures for design and construction documents for new clients and successfully took projects with scheduling problems and staffing issues to projects that could meet the GMP pricing with a full set of constructible documents and specifications.
