JOHN HARRIS
SENIOR PRINCIPAL WATERPROOFING CONSULTANT
John Harris has over 50 years of experience in roofing and waterproofing construction. He earned his B.S. from UC Berkeley College of Natural Resources. Mr. Harris also completed his apprenticeship training in 1979 from the Roofing Industry Joint Apprentice Training in Santa Rosa in 1979. He is currently a member of the Roof Consulting Institute.
Mr. Harris has specialized in sustainable designs of building envelope systems since 1976. He worked as a roofing contractor for various firms where his responsibilities included estimating, design, project management for large commercial, industrial, and multi-unit residential projects. He managed operations involving 80 employees including training, hiring, leak investigations, roof inspection and reports, and destructive testing.
In 2000, Mr. Harris started his own firm Architectural Waterproofing Technologies, Inc. where he provided building envelope waterproofing designs and design review. He offered peer waterproofing design review and construction administration services for new commercial, institutional, multi-use residential projects.
At Axis Building Envelope Design, John continues to provide clients with his expertise in waterproofing designs for construction projects throughout northern California. Mr. Harris has also acted as a consultant and expert witness in construction defect projects.
